An adult shop called Private Moments on Dublin's Dorset Street has sparked controversy.

It's been ordered to remove images of women dressed in skimpy outfits from its window display.

The store displayed two large posters in its windows of women dressed in costumes. One of the images was similar to that of Britney Spears in the Baby One More Time video.

As a result, there were complaints that the pictures objectify women.

The Herald reports that Dublin City Council has issued the adult store with an enforcement notice ordering it to remove the posters.

Green Party Councillor Ciaran Cuffe welcomed the news and claimed the images were inappropriate.

He noted that the shop is beside a residential area and a primary school.
