While a Status Orange Wind Warning for Clare, Cork, Kerry, Limerick and Galway is expected to last 24 hours.

A Status Red Marine Warning will also be in place off south-western coasts from 3am until 11pm tomorrow.

Gusts of up to 130 kilometres per hour are expected, along with heavy rain.

Local Authorities have activated their Crisis Management Teams and Local Co-ordination Groups.

Coastal flood defences are being put in place and the public are being advised to stay away from all coastal areas for the duration of the Met Éireann warnings.
