A preferred route for a cycle path alone the quays has emerged.
It would divert buses througth a site where an apartment block is being built.
Last March Dublin City Council put forward 4 options for a cycle lane from the Phoenix Park to the Docklands and according to the Irish Times it received 1200 responses.
Just under half favoured moving Croppies Acre Memorial Park at Collins Barracks down to the quay wall and diverting traffic around it on a new road.
Cars would return to the quays at the end of the park while the bus lane would continue along Benburb Street until Smithfield.
But before the bus lane would get back onto the quays it would run through an apartment block due for completion next year.
Developers say the have not been contacted by the council desite the option being put forward.
