A private prayer service will take place in Dundalk Garda station today to remember Tony Golden, the Garda gunned down in the line of duty on Sunday.
Garda Golden was shot dead as he assisted a woman during a domestic row in Omeath Co Louth.
The woman is in critical condition in Beaumont hospital, while the 24 year old perpetrator Adrian Crevan Mackin also died.
Garda Golden has been hailed by the Garda Commissioner as "a hero".
