Free To Use Podcast Studios Open At Dublin Library

Free to use podcast studios have been opened at a Dublin library.

Two recording booths in Ballyfermot can be also be used to record music, videos and digital stories.

The Creative Studio is free to use to all members of any library in Ireland, who is over the age of 15.

The booths are fully kitted out with top audio and video recording equipment and software.

The idea is they can be used to record a music track, song, or demo.

They can also be set up for a Facebook Live event, or to record an audio or video podcast.

The equipment for each studio includes some or all of the following:

  • Microphones (stand, table mounted) with pop filter shock mounts
  • Studio headphones
  • 4 Channel Stereo Headphone Distributor Amplifier
  • Studio monitors
  • 4 channel or 8 channel Focusrite Scarlett audio interface
  • Cinema Camera 4K + tripod
  • Logitech C615 HD 1080p webcam
  • LED lighting
  • Green screen
  • iMac computers, 21.5-inch iMac with Retina 4K display
  • Final Cut X video editing software, Logic Pro X music making software, GarageBand, Audacity

Those interested in using The Creative Studio can fill out this form, and will have to attend a 45 minute induction.

Sessions start at 50 minutes long, and can be booked up to a maximum of 2 hours and 50 minutes.

Those interested are being advised that, while basic help will be available, the studios are self-service.
