A planning application's due to be lodged this week for a proposed new town centre at Cherrywood.

The 2 billion euro project will eventually deliver almost 4-thousand new homes near the end of the Luas green line.

Planning permission will be sought later for three amenity parks which will include footpaths and cycleways.

US property giant Hines paid more than €280 million for the 400 acre site last year.

The initial infrastructure rollout will create 150 construction jobs when work starts towards the end of next year.

It's hoped that 30 thousand people will eventually live and work in the new town.
