Pizza Box Bins Launched In Parts Of Dublin

Pizza box bins are being trialled in Blackrock and Dalkey.

Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County Council says the aim is to tackle the issue of bulky pizza boxes blocking ordinary public bins.

The council says it wants to engage with people on ideas for improving public areas.

Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County Council says: "This is one of our first dlrBETA projects and these new public bins accepts pizza boxes only. The first two pizza box bins are being trialled in Blackrock and Dalkey."

An Cathaoirleach Una Power says: "This is one of our small scale dlrBETA initiatives and our aim is to tackle the issue of bulky pizza boxes blocking ordinary public bins."

The dlrBETA project aims to engage with the citizens of Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown and to assess submissions from the public on ideas that they have for small scale improvements to the public realm.
