If you thought the price of a pint was expensive in Temple Bar, it's after getting even dearer.

The price of a pint in some pubs in the area is now costing €9.95 according to a study by The Irish Mirror.

It comes as both Heineken and Diageo have increased their prices in recent months.

Owner of the Oliver St John Gogarty pub, Martin Keane, says publicans are facing rising costs:

"It's quite expensive. As you can see, it's now just after twelve o'clock in the day and we have musicians in playing."

"They have to be paid, they have to get increases. So our rates and overheads still stands. Unfortunately, the price of alcohol like everything else, it's rising."

Meanwhile, there was a mixed reaction from punters in the Temple Bar area.

Many tourists said they were happy to pay the price for one pint, but others said they would consider going elsewhere.

The price of a pint of Guinness in the area could set you back as much as €8.95.
