The Phoenix Park will be out of bounds again today despite the pope returning to Rome after his two day visit to Dublin.
Rush hour is very heavy this morning as a result with long delays on Knockmaroon Hill.
Please note there will be no vehicular or pedestrian access to the Phoenix Park until 7am on Tuesday, 28th August. This is necessary for the removal of essential infrastructure and the removal and re-installation of road signage and other road modifications for the event.

Huge crowds turned out for the papal mass in the park yesterday but despite that, the numbers were well below the half a million tickets booked for the event.
It's not known how many people braved the elements and restrictions but it's believed it was well under 200,000.
Roughly a million people attended the mass given by Pope John Paul II in 1979 but there weren't anything like the restrictions seen yesterday. Park and Ride facilities were some distance from the park and mobility scooters were banned.
