Gardai are appealing for witnesses to an aggravated burglary in north Dublin.

It happened close to the Malahide Road in the early hours of last Thursday.

A group of men burst into the home of a pensioner in Coolock in the early hours of last Thursday morning, the man who is aged in his 80's suffered minor injuries during a scuffle.

The intruders then made off in a silver Renault Megane estate, driving over a grass margin at Dunree Park and travelling for a short distance in the wrong direction along the Malahide Road.

Gardaí want to speak to anyone who saw any erratic driving activity involving the Renault Megane between 1 am and 5 am last Thursday, in the Dunree Park, Tonlegee Road, Donaghmede or Clarehall areas.

They'd also like to see any dashcam footage from the area at that time.
