A 63 year old man has died in a road traffic collision in West Cork.
He was knocked down by a 4x4 vehicle on the Kilcrohane Road near Durrus just before 2am.
Emergency services treated the man at the scene but he was pronounced dead a short time later.
His body has been taken to Cork University Hospital for a postmortem examination.
The road is currently closed to traffic and local diversions are in place.
