Senator Lorraine Clifford-Lee has again apologised for making derogatory remarks about Travellers.
Some tweets from 2011 emerged recently where the Fingal by-election candidate used words like ‘knacker’ and ‘pikey’.
This morning she met with Traveller's community support group Pavee Point.
The organisation says Senator Clifford-Lee's comments were offensive, but it accepts her apology.
However Co-Director Martin Collins said that there are still concerns that are an internal matter for Fianna Fail.
He said; "Having reflected on it, I think people should be allowed the space and the time to think about the offence and hurt that they have caused.
"In this particular incidence, I think Lorraine Clifford-Lee has done that but I still believe that there are still some issues and concerns and that will be a matter for the internal process of the Fianna Fáil party."
The Fianna Fáil leader Michéal Martin has backed Senator Clifford- Lee following her apology.
However, the Taoiseach Leo Varadkar has said he is disappointed in Fianna Fáil's response to comments made.
