The Anti Austerity Alliance candidate beat Sinn Fein’s Cathal King in the final count, to take the Dublin South West Dail seat, left vacant after Brian Hayes went to the European Parliament.
Speaking afterwards, the former MEP says he’ll continue the fight against water charges and austerity.
