The parents of Siobhan Phillips, who was critically injured in Sunday's shooting in Omeath in Co Louth, have paid tribute to Garda Anthony Golden who was killed in the attack.
Both Siobhan and Garda Golden were gunned down in a domestic violence incident at her home by 24 year old Adrian Crevan Mackin who then turned the gun on himself.
Siobhan was critically wounded in the incident and is fighting for her life in hospital.
Her parents have issued a statement expressing condolences to the family and colleagues of Garda Golden.
They say he laid down his life for their daughter and they've appealed for privacy for their family and for her small children.
Garda Golden will be laid to rest tomorrow following funeral mass at noon in St Oliver Plunkett Church, Blackrock, Co Louth.
Gardai from all over the country are expected to attend.
