The International Organization for Migration says 218 people have drowned trying to enter Greece so far this month.
In the latest tragedy, at least 33 migrants - including five children - drowned off the Turkish coast.
The migrants, from Syria, Afganistan and Myanmar were trying to reach the Greek island of Lesbos.
According to reports, 75 people were rescued by coast guards.
