Oscar Pistorius has been granted bail until he is sentenced for the murder of his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp.
Judge Aubrey Ledwaba's this morning ordered the athlete remain under house arrest until April, after his manslaughter conviction was changed to murder.
Under the conditions of his bail Pistorious will have to surrender his passport and a curfew is to be imposed.
He will be allowed to leave his uncle's mansion where he is currently living, but must remain within a 50 kilometre limit of the house.
When he does appear in court next year he will be facing at least 15 years in jail.
Pistorius's lawyer's also confirmed the athlete will try to appeal against his conviction to South Africa's highest court.
But the judge told Mr. Pistorius he won't have to spend Christmas in prison.
