Today is the one month anniversary of the Berkeley balcony collapse in which 6 Irish students died and 7 were injured when a fourth floor terrace gave way at a party.
Now Berkely City Council has voted to adopt recommendenations to prevent such a tragedy ever happening again.
They include more frequent inspections and stricter rules on what building materials can be used in construction.
Meanwhile a number of fundraisers have been organised for the survivors some of whom have been left with life changing injuries.
A concert will take place at the Academy on Middle Abbey Street next Thursday.
