Barnardos is reminding people that one in ten children in Ireland is living in consistent poverty.
Today is their National Collection Day, and thousands of volunteers are taking to the streets in towns and cities across the country.
People can also donate by texting BUCKET to 50300 as this will send 4 euro directly to Barnardos from a mobile.
