Longboat Quay residents could escape having to pay for fire safety works after the developer offered to complete the renovations at cost price.
The repairs to the longboat quay apartments are needed to comply with a fire safety order issue by Dublin Fire Brigade in October.
Residents of the 298 apartments believe they shouldn't have to foot the €1M bill.
Now the man who build the homes, Bernard McNamara, has offered to complete the works at a low price.
He has also disputed findings in the fire safety report saying that many of the works outlined are upgrades or routine maintenance required following normal wear and tear.
If the offer is accepted residents would avoid bills of between €4500 and €9000.
Its understood that people will receive the letter this morning from Mr. McNamara outlining his proposal.
