More than 3 million people are registered to vote in this Friday's General Election - but do you know who you're voting for?
The 3-week campaign has been one of the shortest in the history of the state, and this is the first General Election to be held since constituency boundaries were re-drawn - which means you could have new candidates in your area.
A new website is promising to match you and your local aspiring TD (if they're not already one) by asking you to answer a series of questions. It's been described as Tinder for politicians.
SmartVote.ie says "choosing who to vote for can be confusing to say the least", so it's done a lot of work and "asked each candidate in your constituency to answer thirty questions."
It invites you to "take the test yourself and we’ll compare your answers to theirs to find your ideal candidate."
You have to choose, using green and red thumbs, how much you agree or disagree with a topic. The website then compares your answers to the answers of each of the candidates.
If you need help figuring out who might best represent you, the site then displays your candidates in a list from the closest match to the person with the views furthest from yours.
You might not find love, but you could find out who you'll choose in the k̶i̶s̶s̶i̶n̶g̶ polling booth.
