The community of Holywood in Co. Down are in shock after the bodies of a newlywed couple from the area were found dead on a beach in South Africa on Friday.
28 year old John Rodgers and his 26 year old wife Lynette from Ballygowan drowned after getting into trouble swimming in rough seas at Plettenberg Bay.
The couple tied the knot in front of family and friends last Saturday and set off on their honeymoon on Monday.
They were found dead approximately 200 metres from each other.
The British Foreign Office and PSNI are providing consular assistance to their families "at this extremely difficult time".
