Almost half of Irish women are going 'cold turkey' in the run-up to Christmas in a seasonal drive to lose a few pounds and look their very best, according to a new study.
The poll asked 550 women if they wanted to slim down before the annual season of over indulging starts at Christmas.
43% of those surveyed in the poll, conducted by discount site Promocodes.ie, said they needed to lose weight ahead of Christmas, with 57% saying they weren't going to try because they simply don't have the willpower
When probed about how much they wanted to lose, 50% agreed that up to four pounds was a realistic goal.
