The first National College Awareness Week will be launched later today in an effort to give secondary school students a taste of college life.
Key policymakers are meeting to consider reforms to the school system that would encourage students to view further education as an option.
It comes as figures show that only 70 per cent of leaving cert pupils continue onto third level education.
