It has been revealed that Na Fianna GAA club will not be forced to surrender its playing pitches to accomodate the MetroLink system.
The route will now use lands owned by the nearby Home Farm Football Club, and the soccer club will recieve more than €5 million as a result.
The news comes on the back of protests against the proposed route in the area, which would have seen the club give up it's pitches for six years.
A campaign against the route was opposed by locals and celebs alike, with Dermot Bannon, Johnny Cooper and Taoiseach Leo Varadkar all calling for an alternative.
That alternative has now been found, and Na Fianna will lose a MetroLink station, but keep what's most important to them.
