GardaÍ have launched a murder investigation following the discovery of a body of a man on the northside at the weekend.
The 42 year old man was found at his home at Glendhu Road in Cabra on Sunday morning by relatives who had become concerned after they had no contact with him in recent days.
Last night detectives from Cabra Garda Station launched a murder investigation into the death of a man who they described as "an ordinary Joe Soap" who had never been in trouble in his life.
Sources say gardaí have not yet established the time of death, but that the victim suffered extensive injuries.
