Gardai may have made a major breakthrough on Day 10 of the suitcase murder inquiry.

A bag has been recovered from Sallins in Co. Kildare which is close to the original torso find in Ardclough, while it's understood another bag has also been found in Fonthill here in Dublin.

Officers in Clondalkin await the arrival of the Garda Water Unit

The remains are due to be examined today and DNA tests will have to be carried out before Gardai can confirm if they belong to dad-of-one Kenneth O'Brien.

It’s been over a week since the dismembered body of Kenneth O’Brien was found in the Grand Canal in the small village of Ardclough in Kildare.

The Garda Underwater Unit are also due to carry out searches later today.
