Meta, the parent company of Facebook and Instagram, is reducing its headcount for the third time in six months.

It's something company CEO Mark Zuckerberg indicated was on the cards earlier this year.

Meta first reduced its headcount by 11,000 in November, however Mark Zuckerberg explained that further cuts could be needed.

The company is planning to cull 10,000 jobs, as part of its "year of efficiency".

Those working in roles relating to recruitment were let go last month, and it is expected that a further 4,000 people will be impacted by this round of cuts.

It's not clear as of yet how many Irish roles will be affected.
