Conor McGregor has been fined €1000 and banned from driving for 6 months.

The Crumlin fighter appeared in court in Naas this afternoon, to face charges relating to  speeding on the N7 in Kildare.

The MMA star was caught doing 154 kilometres in a 100km per hour zone near Kill in October 2017.

He pleaded guilty at Naas District Court where he apologised and told the Judge he didn’t know he was going that fast.

Walking out of court this afternoon, McGregor was asked by 98FM's Stephanie Rohan if he had anything to say.

He replied "Just got to drive safer, right?".

When asked by another reporter if he would slow down in future, he said "yes".
