French police have shot dead a man outside a police station in northern Paris.
He attempted to enter the building holding a knife. He was also wearing what looked like an explosive vest - but police now say it was fake.
France has been on high alert since the shootings at the Charlie Hebdo office in the city a year ago today.
Hundreds of people have been told to leave the area around a Parisian police station where a man was shot dead after threatening officers. It's feared other attackers could still be at large.
A Police union representative said the man cried "god is great" in Arabic and rushed towards an officer.
