A man is due in court this morning charged in connection with a security alert at Dublin airport yesterday.

He was arrested after a passenger indicated he had Ebola on board an Aer Lingus flight.

Gardai were called to Dublin airport just before lunchtime yesterday following reports that a passenger on board a flight from Milan showed a flight attendant a plastic coffee cup marked "Attentione Ebola".

There were 142 passengers on board at the time and the Captain contacted the DAA.

A cordon was placed around the aircraft while three of the passengers were medically assessed.

No evidence of a health risk was found and the security alert was lifted.

A man and two women were arrested. The women were released without charge but the male suspect is due to be brought to court this morning.
