A man in his 30's is due in court at 5pm, charged in connection with the death of a Polish man in Athlone.
23 year old Patryk "Paddy" Krupa's body was recovered from the River Shannon on Friday night.
Gardai have been investigating reports that a man was attacked and bundled into a car at Lloyd's Lane in Athlone shortly after 8 o'clock that evening.
Mr Krupa was known to Gardai and suspected of being involved in drugs.
Four men in total have been arrested as part of this investigation.
Two were released without charge, one remains in custody, while the other will appear before a special sitting of Athlone District Court this evening at 5pm.
