A man has appeared in court charged in connection with a crash that led to the death of a male pedestrian in Swords over the weekend.
The victim, a man in his 40s, died after being hit by a car on North Street shortly after 3am on Saturday morning.
Gardai issued an appeal for information after the car involved in the collision failed to remain at the scene.
Desmond Collopy of Landen Road, Ballyfermot was arrested as part of their investigation.
The 29-year-old was charged with dangerous driving and he appeared in court this morning.
There was no application for bail today and he was remanded in custody to appear before Cloverhill District Court on Friday.
