A man in his 20s is due in court today in relation to a suspected arson attack in south Dublin last summer.

A fire broke out at a vacant house on the Shanganagh Road in Ballybrack at about 8.20pm on Monday 15th August 2023.

The house had been the subject of protests the previous month, after rumours circulated it was being earmarked to house asylum seekers.

Investigating gardaí - who've been treating it as suspected criminal damage by fire - have since arrested a man in his 20s.

He's been charged to appear before Dún Laoghaire District Court today.
