A man's due in court in connection with an attempted car jacking in Dublin over the weekend.
This ordeal began at around 10pm on Saturday night when a taxi driver picked up a fare in the city centre and headed towards Finglas.
The passenger then asked the driver to pull over at Royal Canal Avenue in Cabra before assaulting the driver.
The driver was dragged out of the cab and stabbed several times in the arm with a corkscrew.
Passers by came to his aid and held the attacker before gardai arrived.
A 30 year old man is due in court this morning in connection with the assault.
