A photographer has died after falling into the water off the Fanad Lighthouse in Donegal.
The man believed to be in his 60's got into difficulty and was carried into a gulley.
A boat from the Irish Coast Guard was dispatched from Lough Swilly, but due to gale force winds, neither was able to get to the man.
A coast guard helicopter arrived on scene and the man was brought by helicopter to Letterkenny General Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
