A mans been arrested in connection with an attempted armed raid on a post office in Baldoyle.
It happened before 1 this afternoon.
Gardai from Coolock on patrol responded to a call that an armed robbery was underway at a Post Office in the north side village.
A number of men one armed with a gun had entered the building and threatened staff.
The gang fled the scene empty handed and got into a waiting car.
No shots were fired and no one was injured.
A short time later a 43 year old man was arrested in Protmarnock while the car believed to be involved a black BMW with an 08 OY reg, was last seen on Station Road in Portmarnock.
Garda are appealing for any witnesses to contact them.
