A man in his 20s has been arrested in Dublin in connection with the murder of Garda Ardrian Donohoe.

The detective was shot dead during the raid of a credit union in Co. Louth in 2013.

Gardaí have been liaising with several international police agencies, including the PSNI and the FBI, as part of the investigation into the murder.

The suspect was picked up outside Wheatfield Prison yesterday evening and taken to Dundalk Garda Station for questioning, where he can be held for up to seven days.
