MacGowan's Funeral Cortege To Pass Through Dublin Streets

Shane MacGowan's funeral procession will pass through the streets of the city centre this morning.

People will be able to pay their respects to the Pogues frontman from 11am.

Gardaí are warning of traffic restrictions as the funeral cortege travels along the South Lott’s Road Junction on Ringsend Road, continuing onto Pearse Street and passing Pearse Square.

It will turn left onto Westland Row where the procession will end.

From there the cortege will then makes its way to Nenagh in Co.Tipperary where the funeral mass will take place at 3:30pm.

The iconic singer-songwriter died last Thursday at the age of 65 after being sick for several months.

The likes of Hollywood actor Jonny Depp, singer Nick Cave and U2 frontman Bono are all expected to attend the funeral later.
