Two men have been seriously injured following an assault in North Dublin.

The stabbing happened following a funeral in the area yesterday.

Gardaí remain at the scene on Quarry Road in Cabra this morning following the assault. Two men were seriously injured after a fight broke out outside a pub at around 8pm last night.

Large crowds were in the area following the funeral of Brandon Ledwidge. The 23 year old from Finglas was shot dead earlier this month.

In a statement, Gardaí say investigations are ongoing;

"Two males are currently receiving medical attention at the Mater Hospital with serious injuries."

The scene remains sealed off pending a technical exam.
