Residents of Longboat Quay apartment complex are being hit with an increase in management fees.

It's the same complex that needs major fire safety works.

Residents have been told that all units are facing higher cost to look after the buildings.

These are the charges applied in developments with common areas including gardens and hallways.

The biggest increase in on a 3 bed townhouse which will go up by around €677 this year to over €2700 while three bed apartments face a hike of over €500.

There is also an extra charge in the form of an alarm levy.

It's believed the reason for the hikes is due to an increase in the costs of managing the building including insurance costs.
