Lidl has confirmed it is going to rebuild a brand new store at its Fortunestown site after it was damaged and looted during Storm Emma.
Building will start in the coming weeks with the new store planned to be opened by late Summer.
The retailer says it's been "blown away" by the level of support from customers in Tallaght over the past few weeks.
The new, larger, store has been in the pipeline before damage caused by looters during Storm Emma.
The company had to wait for engineers to asses the site, before it could confirm if the works were still able to go ahead.
In a statement, Lidl said it had been "blown away by the level of support received from our loyal customer base in the Fortunestown area over the past few weeks."
"We recognise that our service and store team have been greatly missed by the local community over the past few weeks and the team look forward to welcoming back our loyal customers once the rebuild is complete."
The supermarket chain is offering customers a complimentary shuttle bus service from Fortunestown to its next nearest store at Whitestown Way.
The 40 seater bus will operate on a first come first served basis, and depart at 10.30am sharp each day.
All staff affected by the closure of the Fortunestown Lane store have been offered positions in other stores until the new, bigger, store opens in the summer.
Fianna Fáil TD for Dublin South-West John Lahart said the decision by Lidl to construct a new store on Fortunestown Lane is "a massive boost to the local community".
He described the news as "heart lifting" and a "clear demonstration that the small number of people who engaged in criminal activity in the wake of Storm Emma simply do not represent the local community."
