A High Court Judge has told the State Examinations Commission to review how long it takes to deal with appeals made by Leaving Cert students.
A 19-year-old has won her case, after accusing the commission of failing to fix a 'totting-up error' which meant she would have to wait an extra year to start college.
Rebecca Carter claimed the mistake was easily rectifiable, but was told she wouldn't get word back until the middle of October.
She wanted to start veterinary medicine in UCD next Monday.
This afternoon, the High Court told the State Examinations Commission to review Rebecca's appeal and notify her of a decision by tomorrow evening.
