A third of all medals won at the world's top athletics events go to competitors with suspicious blood tests.

The statistic comes from today's Sunday Times, which claims it's got proof there's widespread doping in the sports industry.

The paper has been working with a German broadcaster to compile leaked data from 12-thousand blood tests, from 5-thousand athletes, including household names.

The cheating is alleged to have taken place at both the Olympics and World Championships between 2001 and 2012, with Russia highlighted as the world blood-doping centre - more than 80 percent of its medals were won by athletes who had a suspicious blood test.

However Mo Farah and Usain Bolt, both the subject of doping rumours, have emerged as clean athletes with no abnormal results.
