Sinn Fein’s Cathal King is ahead following the first count in the Dublin South West By Election.
He’s being following closely by Paul Murphy from the Anti-Austerity Alliance.
The first count was announced just after 1 this afternoon.
34 percent of the total electorate turned out to cast their vote and at the moment, Sinn Fein’s Cathal King is in the lead with 7288 first preferences.
748 votes behind him is Paul Murphy from the Anti-Austerity alliance while Independent Ronan McMahon is in third.
The Fianna Fail, Fine Gael and Labour candidates made up a quarter of the total vote.
With the quota at 12,013, it could be later this afternoon before we find out who takes the Dail seat here.
