A Kinahan organised crime group leader has been arrested in Spain on foot of a UK extradition warrant.
Liam Byrne, brother of David who was shot dead at the Regency hotel in Dublin in 2016, was arrested in Majorca yesterday evening.
Gardaí have called it "a particularly significant development'' in the efforts to ''dismantle the operations of the Kinahan Crime Group''.
The arrest was part of the UK's National Crime Agency investigation, supported by Spanish Police and officers from An Garda Síochána.
