Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel have settled their defamation actions against Heat Magazine at the High Court in Dublin.

The couple took the action over an article published in the magazine last month - which carried quotes falsely attributed to Ms Biel.

They say they are “very satisfied” with the retraction and apology offered by Heat’s publishers - and will not be making any further comment.

Hollywood stars Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel were not in court this morning - to hear Bauer Consumer Media offer a categoric apology for any embarrassment caused by an article in Heat Magazine last month.

In a statement to the High Court, the defendant said the article was based on an unfounded report and included statements “improperly attributed” to actress Biel - which it now says it understands were never made by her.

Bauer Media said it withdraws any inferences questioning the state of the couple’s marriage and “unreservedly apologises”.

Timberlake and Biel’s lawyer - Paul Tweed had this to say to reporters outside the Four Courts.

The couple now say they will make no further comment on the matter - but are warning they won't hesitate to take similar legal action if false allegations about their marriage are repeated.
