The winner of the men’s title at The Dublin City Marathon is Alemu Gemechu of Ethiopia in a time of 2:14:01.
Nataliya Lehonkova of Ukraine is the first woman over the finish line in a time of 2:30:00.
Patrick Monahan was the first wheelchair athlete home.
15,000 people are competing in this year's event.
The 42km race began at Fitzwilliam Place and a number of road closures are in place.
ROUTE
- The route will begin at Fitzwilliam Place and will continue from Leeson St, St Stephen’s Green South, Cuffe St, Kevin St, The Coombe, Meath St, Thomas St, High St, Lord Edward St, Essex Quay, Merchant’s Quay, Usher’s Quay, Usher’s Island, Victoria Quay, Frank Sherwin Bridge, Parkgate St, Phoenix Park, Chapelizod, Inchicore Rd, South Circular Rd, Crumlin/ Drimnagh / Walkinstown Roads, Kimmage Rd West, Templeogue Rd, Terenure Rd East, Orwell Rd, Dartry Rd, Milltown Rd, Clonskeagh Rd, Fosters Avenue, Stillorgan Rd, Nutley Lane, Merrion Rd, Shelbourne Rd, Haddington Rd, Northumberland Rd, Mount St Lower and will finish at Merrion Square.
ROAD CLOSURES
- Merrion Square North and Holles St is closed until 9pm and Merrion Square South is closed until 8pm. Merrion Square East and West are closed until 7:30pm.
- Cumberland Rd, Kildare St and Pembroke St Lwr, Baggot St Lwr, Merrion Row, James's St East, Herbert St, Fitzwilliam Square East, Fitzwilliam Square West, Fitzwilliam Place and Fitzwilliam St Upr are all closed until 11am.
- Fitzwilliam Square North and South are closed until 1pm.
- Merrion St Upr is closed until 5:30pm. Mount St Upr, Mount St Lwr, Stephen's Place and Stephen's Lane, Fitzwilliam St Lwr are closed until 7:30pm. Grattan St, Grattan Court, Wilson's Place and Grant's Row are closed until 5pm. Clare St is closed until 6:30pm.
- Lincoln Place from 8am to 5pm.
- Leeson St Lwr and St. Stephen's Green South from 8:30am to 10:30am. The Clonskeagh Rd, Roebuck Rd, Foster’s Ave and the Stillorgan Rd (from Foster’s Ave past UCD Flyover) from 9am to 5pm.
- A number of road and gate closures will also be in place in the vicinity of Phoenix Park. Castleknock Rd (from Castleknock Gate to College Rd), College Rd, Tower Rd and Knockmaroon Hill from 9am to midday.
- North Rd, Spa Rd and Chesterfield Ave will close from 8:30am to 10:40am. Survey Rd, Knockmaroon Rd, Upper Glen Rd and Acres Rd will close from 9am until midday. NCR Gate and Cabra Gate will close from 9am until approx. 10:45am. Castleknock Gate will close from 8:45am until 11:15am and Knockmaroon Gate and Chapelizod Gate will also close from 9am until midday.
