The Irish Tourist Assistance Service (ITAS) is in place to help people who have been mugged or robbed on their holidays.
Joe Sheehan, the American visitor who rescued a man from the Liffey Saturday evening was also assisted by the service when the trained lifeguard had his phone and wallet stolen as he pulled the man to safety.
