It's feared one of Dublin's best loved cinema screens could be for the cutting room floor. Questions are being raised about the ending of Screen One in the Savoy on O'Connell Street.
Savoy One, with its giant curved screen, has played host to countless film premieres over the years, including Brooklyn, Interstellar and Noah, which saw Russel Crowe walk the red carpet.
When asked if rumors that the iconic Screen One is going to be divided and turned into two smaller screens, IMC Cinemas, which owns The Savoy, admitted it is "considering this change", but said "no final decision has been made."
IMC said it has "lots of exciting things happening for the Savoy, including refurbishments and new screens".
Savoy One is used each year to screen movies during the Audi Dublin International Film Festival. The cinema operator has promised to post "regular updates as and when they happen".
