Security cameras in hundreds of homes across the country have been hacked and the video feeds are being streamed on the internet without their owners' knowledge.
According to the Irish Mail on Sunday camera footage from baby monitors in childrens bedrooms and security cameras in womens' toilets are among the 283 live feeds from Ireland that can be viewed on a website registered in Moldova.
This is possible due to the fact that when many people install web-linked cameras they fail to change the default security password on the device, which leaves them vulnerable to hackers.
